Hey! So nice to meet you!

I’m Maria Murphy-owner, lead designer and creative director of Social Blooms + Events. I’ve been flowering weddings and events all over the beautiful state of Michigan since 2015 (has it really been 10 years already!?)!

I’m a former preschool teacher-turned stay at home mom, who needed a creative outlet and stumbled upon the gorgeous world of florals. After a year of learning and honing in on my skills and design style, Social Blooms + Events was created and it’s been one heck of an amazing adventure so far.

When I’m not flowering and making spaces pretty, most could find me at home with my hubby and kiddos. I’m a homebody at heart and my family is what keeps me going. Well, them and iced lattes . Spending time in my kitchen, hosting parties, gardening & honestly, anything that gets me creative fuels my soul.

    Builder + Lifter of Heavy Things

    Social Blooms + Events wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for this guy. He quite honestly does it all. From designing and building structures, to hanging greenery on backdrops, to hauling buckets of flowers up and down stairs-we would easily need to hire an entire crew to handle what this one guy does. He makes sure the team is caffeinated and is the man for the job if your DJ cancels last minute or if your officiant got lost in traffic. We weren’t kidding that he does it all.

    Bloom Crew

    Former client turned friend and floral assistant, Juliana is one of our newest additions to the team (aka our Bloom Crew!)! From wrapping bouquets at our Bloom Bar to arranging centerpieces, she’s our go to gal and brings so much joy and upbeat energy to the studio!

    Juliana is also a college volleyball coach and loves adventuring with her hubby and furry child, Roy.
